Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has reportedly declined calls from Vice President Kamala Harris concerning federal disaster aid for his state following Hurricane Helene and incoming Hurricane Milton.

He also declined to join President Biden last week to survey damage from Hurricane Helene. When questioned by reporters, DeSantis said he knew nothing about Harris' attempts to reach him.

DeSantis is a Republican who briefly sought his party's presidential nomination but now supports former President Donald Trump.
