With the central door at the top of the Old Man's study opened, the Lightners get ready to head to the Fountain and put an end to the adventure. But before they leave, the Old Man calls Susie over to deliver the letter he's been working on. Susie complies, glossing it over some, before she and the others make their exit. As they move, they spot the Knight! Susie, not wanting to let it get away again, climbs up after it, with Ralsei and Kris following after, while the Knight sends several swords after Kris, in a bid to slow them down! When Kris catches up with the others, Ralsei calls out to Susie, who chases after the Knight...! But just before she reaches it, it hides behind a grand door, which quickly shuts behind her! Deeply shaken by this, Susie begins to doubt herself, while Ralsei provides some reassurance, before the group moves toward the Dark Fountain. This one is noticeably thinner than the other ones encountered, and the Knight hasn't even attempted to stop them from sealing it... Regardless, when the Fountain is sealed, Kris and Susie end up back in the church's lobby, where the sun appears to have gone down since their escapades in the Dark Sanctuary... And to top it off, there's some black smoke coming from the entrance to the main hall...! The Knight must have opened another Fountain there, but the door is locked by a number-based puzzle...! With no way to get in, the two Lightners start to look around for clues... First, they enter Father Alvin's office, where it is revealed that the Old Man in the Dark World was somehow revived from the dust of Gerson Boom, the father of the pastor! Alvin apparently kept his dust in a glass container with a hammer and a photo... Susie, remembering what the late author's spirit had told her, begins to write out the letter for the pastor to read. When this is finished, she and Kris begin to look around some more, eventually arriving in the choir rehersal room, where Susie begins to tell a story involving her history with pianos... The investigation, though, appears to have no real leads... Susie, meanwhile, has an idea... Thinking that Gerson might know how to get into the sanctuary that the Knight is hiding in, she suggests making a Dark World! Kris lets her borrow their knife for this, and together, they venture back into the dark... Will they be able to find the Old Man and get the information they need?
