These Apple Dumplings use canned crescent rolls and sprite or 7-up. They are so yummy served over vanilla ice cream or with whipped cream. I halved the recipe in my video but here is the full recipe.
Apple Dumplings
2 cans crescent rolls
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 cup 7 Up (or other lemon soda)
2 apples (I like Granny Smith)
1. Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Preheat the oven at 350° F.
2. Peel and core apples, than cut each apple into 8 slices.
3. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll and place in a buttered dish.
4. Melt butter, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, and in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat once sugar has dissolved.
5. Pour the soda in the middle and along the edges of a pan (not over the rolls)
6.Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until they become golden brown.
7. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
