Happy 41st hatch day, Deco! 🐧

Deco is the oldest bird in our African penguin colony! She hatched at the Aquarium in 1981, and has far exceeded her life expectancy. In the wild, African penguins usually live to be ~10-15 years old.

Deco can be easily identified by the blue band on her right wing, and is named after the Art Deco style of the early 1900s, which often featured penguins! If you see Deco in the Aquarium this week, wish her a happy 41st hatch day!
