AKheon | Deadly Premonition (PS3) - mission overlaps in Chapter 12 pt. 4 @AKheon | Uploaded August 2023 | Updated October 2024, 20 minutes ago.
Even more results of duplicating and otherwise messing around with this mission circle.
0:00 - If your timing for mission circle duplication is late, the second time you enter the circle you activate the "too late" cutscene that plays at 23:00 instead of the mission itself. This creates an unique but pretty simple cutscene overlap variation that left alone will lead to the tailing sequence starting completely normally.
1:10 - On this attempt, I gain freedom to move during the cutscene, so I take the opportunity to go hide in a dumpster.
2:17 - I've already officially failed the tailing sequence according to the game, so it cannot start properly, leading to the usual car break-out scenario... but now I'm also hiding in a dumpster simultaneously, so I guess that's something new?
2:58 - On this attempt, I go and switch cars during the cutscene. For some reason, being in a car during a certain point of the mission cutscene, the 23:00 cutscene where York muses about being too late also activates and becomes overlapped on top of the whole mess of cutscenes automatically. York seems to accidentally hit the mission circle again as the game teleports him to the tailing location.
When the tailing sequence finally tries to begin, York is not in the same car with Emily and Thomas, which is pretty weird by itself, but the car also no longer functions properly. Although York is shown driving the car, it doesn't budge an inch, almost like some kind of an alternative car break-out. After waiting long enough, you fail the tailing scene after which everything is returned back to normal.
4:49 - An alternative result of switching cars is that the game simply crashes when the tailing sequence begins. This crash happening or not happening might be determined by whether you're in a regular patrol car or not.
