Dead Gears Space of War is a $9.99 Nintendo eShop release from publisher Consann Real Estate, a blatant clone combining elements of Gears of War and Dead Space, and this is the fourth entry in an ongoing series covering the worst games on the Nintendo Switch eShop.
Dead Gears Space of War puts you in the boots of Captain Darius Vex, an elite soldier sent to investigate a bio-mechanical infection on a distant colony planet. On paper it borrows liberally from both Gears of War and Dead Space, right down to the logo font and the Cog-style artwork. In practice it delivers low texture environments, generic combat and none of the cover mechanics or atmosphere that made either of its inspirations memorable.
Consann Real Estate, whose credits also include a Fall Guys clone and an Ace Combat inspired flight simulator, continues a well established tradition of eShop shovelware with this release.
