3/15/2023 Pajaro Dunes
We got another break from the latest atmospheric river in California.
This latest storm was devastating. The Pajaro River levee breached on the Monterey County side and flooded the entire area all the way to Hwy 1. Pajaro was under water for a few days and it may be months until residents can return. It won't be storming for a few more days but it might pick up again next Tuesday.
With all the damage, it may be a while until I go on a backpacking trip. So I took a cruise to Pajaro Dunes for a day at the beach. I wanted to check out the river mouth and find a nice spot to chill.
Gear Notes:
The new Sierra Designs Flex Capacitor 40-60 is very comfortable so far.
I only used three sand stakes to pitch the Vik 1 tent. The first to keep the ground sheet and tent body from flying away. The last two for the vestibules. I love how fast and easy it is to pitch the Vik 1.
