If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. It ain't as big as other base tours I've seen, but I'm happy with what I did cause it's cozy. This is also my first base-tour, so forgive me if it isn't as good as other such base tours.

No server-side mods were used and no changes were made to the world settings (yes, I play with disease ON). These were the client-side mod and the settings that I used for them. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1594814593

I didn't want to include the following backstory in the video, cause it would be too much work and wouldn't really be what I wanted to go for, so here it is.

I have only swapped twice to Wendy via the Celestial Portal to build a Sanity Station. Switching characters as WX would mean losing my overcharge and having to constantly eat more gears to get what was lost per swap, which sounded annoying. That, and I typically pick one character and stick with them for a long time, cause that's just what I do :p

I had to swap twice because I messed up when making the Sanity Station the first time due to me not knowing that barren turf would make the flowers go poof. The only deaths in this world was to make the Sanity Station.

This world is my 2nd solo day 1000+ world and I played it rather slowly in comparison to other worlds I've seen. My first 1000+ solo world was with Wigfrid and I was still new to/getting better at DST.

I started this world about late October 2018 as a throwaway world that was going to be deleted rather quickly once I had gotten some basic experience with WX, a character I had only played when I was a noob in DS RoG.

I wasn't really motivated to initially play the world, but I got a Krampus Sack at Day 5 from killing Catcoons and Pigs, so that prevented me from deleting it.

Then I remembered Sir Christopher's I video on how to keep Moslings year-round, experimented with it some more so that I didn't have to do a rollback, and decided that I was going to abuse it in this world. His channel here: youtube.com/channel/UCRwjliT-JYXGxHl5R9CLg9w

Year-round overcharge and a way to control the world's wetness (for Morning Stars) were two things that I was looking into as well, so it was a good source of motivation. Morning Stars were my primary weapon throughout this world because of this.

I played the world at my own pace, I experimented with the stuff I wanted to, did things I never did before (like tame my first Beefalo :D), and got even better at the game. The Cave Base was a design I had in mind for a friend's world, but that world ultimately died, so I decided to make that my cave base design. The majority of my Glowcaps were indeed from catching spores. Only the Sanity Station and the two Tentapillars had the Winter's Feast Lights in them, which provide infinite light, even when at 0%.

I did start to stream the world on twitch after the first in-game year all the way to about 1000 days. There was also news of the RoT content, and that Joe (developer) on reddit said that a new world would probably be required to access the new stuff. While I did play the world some more (well past the Year of the Pig King event), it did ultimately kill my motivation to keep playing the world. I would have decorated my Cave Base a lot more otherwise and complete some more things, probably pushing it to 2,000 days.

The retrofitting process was a recent thing, and I did test it out, but enough has changed in terms of game mechanics, world-generation, and character additions, that I ultimately decided that I'm done with this world and that I'm ready to move on to a new world to experiment with other base designs and game mechanics that I couldn't justify doing in this world.

Also, it's not an exaggeration to say that late-game is all about that wood grind, which I would say contributed to the rather high day-count :/ (I also just left Bearger in a forest cause I didn't want to deal with him, so yea...). Also, the giant, wood-intensive road on the surface I made became useless after learning about the two-way Telelocator Focus trick, so rip me.

Other than that, I look forward to playing on a new world, especially since the Return of Them: Turn of Tides update comes to Main Branch TODAY, alongside regular updates (as per Joe).

Thanks for watching and/or reading!
