What's up Geekly Goods fam! 🤯 David Jonsson was actually cast as the new Black Panther six months ago, and somehow this entire industry managed to keep that secret completely under wraps until now.
Kevin Feige shared an incredible quote about the casting process, revealing that Ryan Coogler called him and said "He's the guy," adding that he felt it in his soul, that Jonsson is a good man, and that he was simply the right choice to become the next Black Panther. Honestly, we could not be happier for him. Jonsson already has such a strong track record, between his breakout performance in Rye Lane, his role in Alien: Romulus, and now The Long Walk, which we still haven't seen ourselves but have heard nothing but great things about.
After watching him in Rye Lane, it was clear this was a young actor who deserved way more leading roles, and now he's stepping into one of the biggest franchises in the world. We're fully on board with this casting, and we cannot wait for Black Panther 3.
