On December 31, 1952, at the Coliseum in Coral Gables, Florida, Danny Nardico faced former Middleweight Champion Jake LaMotta in a light heavyweight bout. What unfolded became one of the most historic moments in boxing — Nardico became the only fighter ever to knock down Jake LaMotta, who had built his reputation on being nearly indestructible inside the ring.
The fight ended after the 7th round when LaMotta’s corner stopped the bout, handing Nardico a technical knockout victory.
