Shooting in suburbs with fussy neighbors makes 1910 shine!
THE GOLD MEDAL GOES TO 1910
This single pump is easy to work on and fix. Just a few rings and a poppet.
The only Youth Rifle to have FULLY adjustable rear sights.
After seeing the main problems with the Red Ryder - jamming trigger and any BB jam in barrel means complete disassembly - the 1910 is a better option (or addition to your collection). The 1910 has no coiled spring to wrestle with.
My 880 fix videos easily cover 1910 - PLUS no chamber seal to worry about. But remember single pumps should be shot in a minute OR UNDER. At 5 minutes, the pressure damages seals.

I have not found a wadcutter like the Econ that cheap with high quality control. My first hunt with 1910, at a few feet under fifteen yards, yielded success with this wadcutter.
But know to go after smaller birds. The 1910 is better for this than Ryder. I've seen young guys giving a squirrel gruesome death with youth BB rifle. The 1910 with Beeman or Excite hollow points or H&N Terminators is more of a killer for medium size birds or squirrels. Just know you will have to hit it more than once. Then you have to ask yourself if you are ok with that outcome.
1910 is Lil' Sis to 880, and she is suitable for close range sparrows. English Sparrows are considered pests. A loud "SWACK" with Econ and it was over. Great energy transfer, and confirms for me why some will only hunt with this pellet style.
Here is order info on superb Econs. Know these are light for 880 - stay at 5 pumps to keep them from shooting wild. Great for 1910:

1910 vs Grizzly
The Grizzly has earned its place, but the 1910 is better engineered for easy repair.
(1) 1910 receiver uses screws not any snap catches.
(2) 1910 has all metal barrel assembly inside with 880-style retaining pin that comes out easily. Grizzly has plastic assembly that locks to frame with plastic catches.
(3) Grizzly has return spring on trigger that interacts with hammer release that has to be shelved correctly - EVERY TIME gun is put back together. No such issue with 1910.
Trigger spring only chore if poppet is removed.
