CHECK FRONT SCREWS BEFORE SHOOTING. MAKE SURE THEY ARE SNUG.

1018 Strong Points

(1) The feeding is reliable. Just tip barrel up before aiming. 18 BBs load without misfeeds that jam other guns.

(2) No premature breakage that I have seen recorded. Parts do naturally wear down.

(3) The trigger guard is perfect for the forefinger hold style. I meant to front load that at the beginning.. Using your left forefinger to press the gun into your right hand is necessity for this gun. Worked great on my 340 also. Learn how much tension to apply. Not too much.

If you don't like my grip, here is how to hold a gun by the book. Please watch this video if you know you have no handgun training

Here is great video on the simplicity of Marksman. Know the engineering, but don't take it apart unless broken or used up after thousands of shots.

Why Opt for 1018?

Some have had multiple 340s, and didn't know not to dry fire piston or hammer. They also used Copperheads which are semi dry fire in 340 which breaks it. They don't know the tips for magazine care which prevents basic jams.

The 1018 is less temperamental.

3rd Party Nightmare

The origins if this channel started with spotting criminal elements on eBay selling HIGHLY marked up 880 parts. This is criminal because, at this time, you have Daisy reps that sell you 880 parts for pennies on the dollar.

Recently as I explored the Daisy 340 as a fun handgun trainer and entertaining carnival pistol, I decided to try LEGITIMATE 3rd party specialists to get replacement parts for the 340 - metal parts and springs.

The total price tag was north of $1700!!
There are businesses who specialize in casting metal parts and others who make custom springs. Daisy, at this time, does not offer retail parts for 340. The 880 and 753 are heavily supported.

Here is what my adored gunshop had to say:"Geez! That is one small corner of that fun gun. So between that metal post in back and a new mainspring and torsion spring under the hammer, they wanted a King's ransom! But understand we get what happened. They are businesses who want to sell HUGE orders to OTHER BUSINESSES. Hell, we like it if somebody comes in here and spends $200 Instead of twenty. Spending $2000 instead of 200 would be encouraged.

"Look, remember when the boss taught you about cargo shipping on guns at this price point? When Gamo took over he was thinking they would gut Daisy customer service. Well it still could happen, but use Daisy reps when you - while you can. I mean, Daisy guns at $20 to $50 you just buy them for parts. You shoot one while the other 880 you strip for parts - and make sure to take the 2nd pump gun apart to relieve stress, like on springs and so on. With the 340, it is a springer so just store it away.

"For a 340 you buy 2 for $40, and cargo ship one later. That is way better than $200 for 10 springs! And that doesn't even count the Mainspring!. $2000 for a $20 carnival gun makes no sense unless you are a business online. Those OEM 340 parts all work, are to spec, and any third party involvement, like subcontractors, are safe. They are working WITH Daisy!

"Also, you likely avoided a bullet because if any of those parts aren't to spec, it could break your 340. You established it has some soft spots, and 3rd party parts that aren't right would break the gun - like springs that are too strong. I find it Interesting you struggled to answer their questions, because you aren't an engineer, so the failure on specs would come from the buyer. Use Daisy reps when you can or cargo ship. Now you know there are serious land mines out there."
