ABOUT MARK
My early interaction with Mark was prickly because I thought he was a GTA troll screwing with me: combative, but knowledgeable. I now see I was too militant about eBay operators. My channel's CRUSADE is against shooters being ripped off on parts to fix their 880. That isn't every eBay opetator. A pro like Mark, and his modest mark ups, is not my target.
You can buy Nitrile 880 O-rings from the store for a few bucks. On the internet I have seen an O-Ring, ONE RING, go for $15, a modern chamber seal for $20. My mission continues there.
But things are not always so black and white. I understand that selling products on ebay doesn't make somebody a criminal. For the Red Ryder, it is HANDS OFF. Daisy doesn't offer RR upgrades, and Mark's prices include attentive tech support. Of course you can count on Shane to help.
I was really looking to exit any more RR exposure. So, any Ryder fix videos I have up now are happenchance - discoveries that are SIMPLE fixes anybody can do.
ABOUT SHANE
With RESTOMOD, I was excited to turn the Ryder show over to Shane! My local gunshop told me not to get mixed up with the modern Ryder. I ended up in a mess of young shooters - stuffing anything they could find into the loading gate - and a product that has poor breech access and jams in FRONT and BACK. BB jams that are not +A easy fixes like the pump guns, jams in back related to the bear trap.
Shane's Adult Red Ryders have these highly desirable traits:
(1) No anti-bear trap
(2) Metal trigger blades
(3) Masterful wood work
(4) Mark's zippy power plant, if asked for or advertised by Shane in that model.
(5) Modified models that use the excellent 25 shot tube or repaired lightning loaders
