Our kitten 'Pinwheel' doing what kittens do best. He is Pinwheel for the most part, but we also call him 'Pistol Pete' because he stills walks like a gangly, bowlegged cowboy & we sometimes call him 'Spike' which he came by because of the fact that for the first 8 weeks of his life he had ridge of hair that stood straight up running down his backbone. That ridge of hair has now laid down and the spike effect is gone. We tend to let our pets evolve into a more permanent name, but for now it's those three mentioned. Pinwheel was a road-side rescue, having found him in some dense underbrush along the road where we walk our Rottweiler. He was crying out as loudly as a 6-8 week old kitten could, and we were able to hear him from the other side of the road. It was raining lightly at the time and he was wet and pathetic looking and very hungry. We looked carefully for any signs of other kittens or a mom and found nothing, so we'll never know how or why Pinwheel found himself alone in the woods that rainy evening. One thing for certain is that he is having a great time now and is completely adjusted to his new life. Thanks for watching!
