This is my first-ever PC-98 composition. A chiptune-related Discord server that I'm on was putting together an album for charity and was accepting composition submissions from people, so I decided to make one. The only experience I have with anything PC-98-related is the first five Touhou games, or at least their music, and the theme of the album was flowers, so I decided to make a theme for a character based on a flower, in this case, an alraune, which, from what I've seen, is a mythical creature commonly portrayed with a humanoid upper body coming out of a giant flower, as well as being the German word for the mandrake plant, whose roots kind of resemble a person. It's also very difficult to find good art for them, since most of it seems to be highly sexualized, which is definitely not what I want. If I actually designed this character, I'd want her explicitly not to be an evil seductress (which is why she's an _Innocent_ Alraune), though I don't actually have a design or a name for her currently. The music itself is supposed to be fairly light and playful, not too dramatic or frantic. Somebody actually managed to track down the instrument samples that Touhou 1-5 used, conveniently enough, and BambooTracker works much the same as FamiTracker, so it wasn't too much of a stretch to use it. I hope I got the style right.
