On March 15th, and 16th, the California State Railroad Museum started up their excursion season by kicking it off with the Shamrock trains in observance of Saint Patrick's Day. The entire Old Town Sacramento and Waterfront becomes an Irish town with many festivities like music, food, and a parade. People from all over attend the event and there's not a better way to spend the day than riding the train along the Sacramento River! SSRR 2030 was the workhorse for the day, pulling the trains all the way down to the end of the Sacramento Southern Railroad tracks at Sutterville. This section of track recently reopened for the trains to travel on which winds up at Sutterville Road where the tracks used to continue further south. This video shows the operations for the day with lots of different spots along the length of the railroad limits. Enjoy the video!
