As many of you know, the city of Hemet privatized their collections a while back and as part of the contract, they were to buy the cities trucks. Well they bought and still use all but the STS m/asl and the Curotto Can. Not too long after CR&R got the contract Scott and I made an effort to film some of their equipment. At the time, only about 3 trucks had already been painted in CR&Rs colors. They also sport the new CR&R sign boards which I think look great.
This is by far the fastest and best operating Rapid Rail in the fleet. Most of the others were having problems with the arms. I know this video is kind of short, but I felt this truck deserved a video of its own since it is so fun to watch. Had I known this was as much footage of this truck that I'd gotten, I would have filmed more. I do however have more footage of 3 other Rapid Rails from this day as well
I'm sure some of you are wondering about the cart colors here. Back when Hemet collected their own waste, they primarily used all black carts and had stencils to write on the carts to tell what materials go in what carts. So drivers (and myself) have to pay close attention to carts to see what is in them. Some only have single letters painted on the corner of the lid or body to tell them apart so it gets tough at times, but the drivers have done it long enough to do it without thinking twice.
Thanks to the driver, and I hope you all enjoy seeing this freshly painted truck doing its thing. Easily one of my favorite paint schemes out there.
