Here we are with truck 45 (Trash) and truck 49 (Recycling) in Santa Barbara, CA.
Marborg took over all of Republics routes in this region (woohoo!) and as a result they are collecting Allied Waste and BFI carts and bins in this video. They will soon be replaced with Marborg carts and manual bins, so it was neat that I managed to film them during the transition period. I am happy to have gotten these old Petes on film too, they look fantastic in this color and are in flawless condition. Also, I didnt look on truck 45, but truck 49 has an Amrep control box inside of it. Just thought that was interesting.
The Toters are used for backyard service, where they literally go into the customers back yard and dump their trash into the Toter, then wheel the Toter to the truck. Its likely intended for elderly or disabled people, but I think there are a lot of people using that service out of pure laziness. lol
Huge thanks to all the Marborg employees, very friendly. Especially the crew on truck 45. Some of the nicest, funniest and most welcoming people I have met so far. Just too bad they finished route right after we found them!
