ECONOMY OF FORCE
Compared to an econo magnum springer, the Legacy is a great alternative. The springer has massive power - but little else in the bargain. It is the agreement you sign up for with that low price.
The Legacy costs me only $79. I like the choice of power I get. 5 smooth pumps, with the correct pump lube, is no problem. It is all I need for my normal 12-meter range.
NOTE: 6 PUMPS DOES KEEP IT TIGHTER AT 15 yards. 1 inch bottle caps are no problem.
⚠️Also, breaking the Legacy is a threat pumping 12 times. It either blows out the valve or the pumping STRESS dislodges the barrel holder in the back. The barrel holder has plastic pegs that if they come lose, one misaligns with the transport hole.⚠️

Following the Econo Magnum Springer Method
With the Legacy, I used methods I learned from shooters who make a hobby out of getting usable field accuracy out of $100 -$150 break barrel magnums.
What I learned is to use very good wadcutters and close the range to 15 yards and under. With those econo springers, they have to shoot hundreds of pellets to smoothen out the gun before trying for reliable close range accuracy. What is the goal accuracy?
1 1/2 inch group
The Legacy is better in that there is no break in period - other than you getting the trigger down. Oiling the hammer is helpful. I will stay with the hard sights for 15 yards. Using optics on this gun, which is harder to pump than an 880 or 760, poses a risk. Holding it by the optics - anchored to a plastic dovetail - is a receiver break waiting to happen.
The Legacy hardsights are adequate at close range.
If you are rabbit hunting, the JSB Heavy and Piranha pellets make the most sense. Wadcutters can handle squirrels or medium-sized birds.
