Having just a minor issue with dyslexia, I messed it up from the beginning, and just went with it, even though, there it is, big as day, on the can. Thanks to a viewer for pointing this out! Follow-up to the out of the box review I did in Dec 24. By putting common Crosman aftermarket parts on, a metal breech, a brass bolt with an extended probe, a really nice looking brass bolt handle, a sling nut, and an AIM 4 x 32 mm sports scope on, I have a next level pcp. Capable of mid 700 fps and almost 20 ft-lbs, and accurate at 25 yards.
.22 Pellet goes in and out...not through...at 750 fps Brian Wilke 2025-02-27 | Just for fun, I shot my 3622 at a spray can; expecting it to go through and the gasses leaving make it fly in a weird direction. This time, the pellet went in, and somehow exited right next to the entry hole, leaving some with high rate of speed enough to cut the metal outwards. Just goes to show you never know what a projectile will do when it hits and penetrates at a high rate of speed.

Yes, the original Daisy 880 can shoot through galvanized steel, as originally advertised Brian Wilke 2025-02-08 | Validated it was Oct 76, and restored it so it could do what a similar one did in a 1970’s advertisement. Winter repairs: Target backstop gets re-furbished at no cost (using old boards from saw horses) Brian Wilke 2025-02-04 | I built my target backstop 1.5 years ago. See my video on building it…I indexed and provided a link below. It worked great, safely stopped even my most powerful .22 air rifles. The boards were eaten half way through in areas directly behind main targets. Much of the rest of the boards were peppered with projectiles. So in the downtime of winter, I fix things like this. Easy fix, and now I’m raring to go. Got a couple new guns to test!

Ruger Air Hawk II gets a second, much more quantitative chance Brian Wilke 2025-01-10 | After doing a video recently on the Crosman F4, my only other .177 caliber break barrel air rifle, I realized that even though the F4 was a power house, I suspected my Air Hawk Elite was probably faster. I had kind of discarded the Air Hawk after performed poorly in a video I did way back in Dec 22. I had not shot it much and didn’t even run speed tests on it. It was only after I did a video on getting the trigger pull on every one of my air guns that I realized I may have shorted this gun as a dud. Its trigger pull was actually better than several smaller air rifles I have. (I didn’t mention that in this video, but wii add that also to referenced/indexed videos. I also did not mention the trigger pull was adjustable). So now we have some tests done, and turns out this old is my fastest .177 air rifle…yet. (Don’t worry, I got a Beeman Raider still in the box.. it may be faster, we’ll see someday)

Since I have had success with the Crosman 362 pneumatic pump .22 air rifle, I knew this pcp version would be in my inventory as soon as I could swing it. It is about as low budget/no frills pcp as you’ll find, but I like it!

Daisy 880 with new trigger kit installed (Part 2 of 7 yr tune up) Trigger pull reduced 5 to 1. Brian Wilke 2024-11-02 | This is Part 2. In Part 1 I disassembled the Daisy 880. In this one I do step by step of taking out the factory installed trigger group and replacing it with an aftermarket trigger group. The result: I lowered my trigger pull from 5.2 pounds to 1.1! Plus I changed out all the o rings and a couple other factory parts with Daisy replacement parts to give one of my favorite pumpers a proper tune up.For anyone interested in how to get one of these kits: I had to look it up in my purchase history on e-bay. I got it off of eBay. The seller's name on e-bay is ronno6 (3051). You can search for Daisy 880 Trigger Mod Kit, and it should come up. Since I just looked it up, I purchased a second one. It costs $19.99, but a little over $27 after shipping and taxes. I plan on using that kit on a future video on doing the same thing to my Winchester 1977, as my 1977 has a trigger pull of 7 pounds. I want to get my trigger pull down from 5.2 pounds to around 2 pounds, so that’s the catalyst. Problem is you have to pretty much take the whole thing apart. This is Part 1. If I did this in one segment it would be a problem for my old cell phone here due to it doesn’t do over 17 minutes very well, and this would press the limit. Not sure if viewership will be better with one 17 to 18 minute video or two 9 to 10 minute videos.
Quick shooting my new .22 Gamo Arrow to puncture water paint filled cans and splatter paint for art Brian Wilke 2024-10-19 | Lots of quick shooting in here from 25 yards to demonstrate the advantages of a pcp air rifle with a 10 pellet magazine. I had to shoot fast and accurate because my targets were cans with thinned out paint. If I took too long, the fluid would drain out. To show how fast you can shoot, and still stay relatively accurate I put in an unedited 10 shot session in about 2/3 of the way through. This turned out to be a really productive 10 shots
My new Gamo Arrow; Accuracy testing (grouping) with five different makes of pellets Brian Wilke 2024-10-12 | I tested my new Gamo Arrow .22 pcp air rifle and am satisfied it will give me the ability to shoot fairly tight shot groups at 25 yards (maxed distance for my back yard). In my first video on the Arrow I ran seven pellets at 10 shots apiece through the chronograph. Using those raw speeds I was able to get Standard Deviations on each type of pellets.I have indexed the first video in this video; also in the first three seconds of this video contains the numbers from my testing in the first video. So if you want to press the pause button and see the raw numbers and the Standard Deviation of each pellet tested, you can do that. "SX" is the symbol for Standard Deviation. More than half the pellets had Standard Deviations of about 40. In this video I test my theory that Standard Deviation is a pretty good indicator of how accurate a certain type of pellet will be before it starts to significantly decrease in speed (25 yards should be fine). Crosman 362 custom valve: Murphy’s Law goes into effect; several disassembly’s of gun required Brian Wilke 2024-09-15 | NOTE: As this is a long video, I should plug a part that many viewers may not stay around for. Starting about the 14:30 mark, I do a piece-by-piece depiction of the disassembly of a Crosman 362. There aren't a lot of videos out there that I am aware of that did the whole disassembly. I have done several videos, in detail, about installing a new breach, and about putting in a new hammer spring, and new valve. But this one, has all the steps, although, each one only briefly.This video is to give a balanced record of my tests regarding the custom valve for the Crosman 362. In a previous video "Crosman 362 AMPED" I featured my installation and early testing of the valve for performance. The performance was outstanding, with an increased velocity of about 30 fps. I had just started doing a follow-up video on how cool this would make my 362 at 25 yards, when the valve ceased to function correctly. The air dump got worse, even with the introduction of stronger hammer springs, and then the valve would lock up. So for 2 months I tried different things to correct this problem. I really wanted a high performing 362! The various steps I took are documented in this video. I thought it was the right thing to do. The 362 AMPed video already has a lot of views, but I don't feel right leaving that up, with the information I have. This video is to show "the rest of the story." Buyer Beware.
Daisy does good on my 753 Avanti: customer service promptly fixes and returns it, and it works fine! Brian Wilke 2024-09-01 | Recently my brand new Daisy 753 went down. After I disassembled the air rifle, and replaced both o-rings, It still didn't work. The Daisy Customer Service woman....I think her name was Amanda....went ahead and authorized me to send it back, and they would try to fix it. Even though I had already disassembled it. I sent it back, and within a week, it came back. It is good that the folks in Rodgers, Arkansas are still on the ball. We hear a lot about when things don't go right, but this time, they did good, so I thought I would show that too. Plus, some more shooting and more stats.
