How to crochet a beanie? In this crochet tutorial, I show you how to crochet a bulky wool beanie in less than two hours! This crochet beanie looks complicated, but is surprisingly simple to create! For the brim, I am using my NEW chevron stitch, and the body is made up of simple DC stitches! I absolutely love this crochet beanie.

Crochet Chevron Beanie Pattern:
Crochet Hook: K/6.5MM
Yarn: Buttercream Luxe Roving Wool, Size 5 Bulky, 230 yds (2 skeins)
Crochet a matching headband using the left over yarn from this project (here): youtu.be/nXa4shY2XBM
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 7, turn.
Row 2: Place 1 SC in each of the BACK BUMPS in the row (7 total SC st). CH 1, turn.
Row 3: Place 1 SC in each st in the row.
Row 4: Place 1 SC in st 1, then place 1 TR in the BLO of the 4th CH st from Row 1. Then working in the top portion of the row, skip the next st you haven’t already worked, then place 1 SC in st 3, 1 SC in the BLO of st 4, and 1 SC in st 5. Place 1 TR back in the same BLO where you placed the 1st TR of this row. Place 1 SC in the last st of the row, CH 1, turn.
Row 5: Place 1 SC in each st in the row.
Row 6: Place 1 SC in st 1, then place 1 TR in the FLO from Row 4. Then working in the top portion of the row, skip the next st you haven’t already worked, then place 1 SC in st 3, 1 SC in the BLO of st 4, and 1 SC in st 5. Place 1 TR back in the same FLO where you placed the 1st TR of this row. Place 1 SC in the last st of the row, CH 1, turn.
Row 7: Place 1 SC in each st in the row.
Rows 8 - 69: Repeat Rows 6 & 7, placing the TR in the FLO created by working the BLO in the center st on the previous “V” rows. You should have 32 Chevron stitches.
Fold pretty sides facing in and join the two edges of the brim with SL stitches.
Row 70: Working along the top edge of the brim, CH 1 and place 2 DC st in each set of 2 loops (66 total DC st). SL st in 1st DC to join.
Row 71: Place 1 SL st in the following st, then place 2 DC between each set of DC stitches from the previous row (66 DC st). This row begins a continuous loop pattern, where the rows act like a spiral.
Rows 72 - 78: Place 2 DC between each set of 2 DC st.
