In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet rat applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colors (106) Snow White and (238) Powder Pink. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends. Thread and needle to stitch the rat together and black thread to embroider on the eye, mouth and whiskers and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 12cm wide x 7cm high (4.75” wide x 2.75” high) for the larger rat, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the rat in Catona will be 9.5cm wide x 6cm high (3.75” wide x 2.5” high). The medium rat will be 9cm wide x 5cm high (3.5” wide x 2” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small rat will be 6cm wide x 4cm high (2.25” wide x 1.5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
