In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet cowboy hat applique.
If you would like to view the crochet pattern for free, it’s on my website at kerriscrochet.com/crochet-cowboy-hat-pattern or you can download it from Ravelry at ravelry.com/patterns/library/man-3 for $1 at and LoveCrafts at lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/man-crochet-pattern-by-kerris-crochet
You can also subscribe to Kerri’s Crochet Newsletter and get a free copy of the Crochet Cat Towel eBook at kerriscrochet.com/crochet-pattern-ebook-and-newsletter
For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton color (393) Charcoal for the hat and 8 ply light grey yarn for the band, but you could use fine ribbon for the band. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors. Sewing thread and a needle to stitch the band to the hat.
The finished size will be 9cm wide x 5.5cm high (3.5” wide x 2” high) for the larger cowboy hat, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the cowboy hat in Catona will be 7cm wide x 4.5cm high (2.75” wide x 1.75” high). The medium cowboy hat will be 6.5cm wide x 4cm high (2.5” wide x 1.5” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small cowboy hat will be 4.5cm wide x 2.5cm high (1.75” wide x 1” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
