In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet airtanker plane applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (106) Snow White, (115) Hot Red, (074) Mercury, (390) Poppy Rose and (110) Black. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors. Black and grey thread and needle to embroider on the windows.
The finished size will be 20cm wide x 12cm high (8” wide x 5” high) for the larger airtanker plane, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the airtanker plane in Catona will be 15cm wide x 11.5cm high (6” wide x 4.5” high). The medium airtanker plane will be 12cm wide x 9cm high (5” wide x 3.5” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small airtanker plane will be 9.5cm wide x 6.5cm high (3.75” wide x 2.5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
