Hello everyone, I’m PIO Director Paul Bloom, we hope you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year! I’m sure some of you made New Year’s resolutions, and that is what I’m here to talk to you about. I want to suggest that you add LOCKING YOUR DOORS to your list of New Year’s resolutions. Today I pulled statistics on all the vehicle burglaries that have occurred in Marion County since January 1, 2018 until today. In the last 9 days, we have had 20 vehicle burglaries, of these 20 burglaries only 3 of them were locked. That’s right 17 out of 20 cars were unlocked.
Here are the items that were stolen: IPHONE, STUN GUN, PURSE, PERSONAL DOCUMENTS AND IMPORTANT PAPERS, CHECKBOOKS, A PISTOL!!! A FOOTBALL, A CAMERA, A BACKPACK, A WALLET, 1800 DOLLARS IN CASH, PHONE CHARGERS, MEDICATIONS, PURSE, GIFT CARDS, PURSE?!?! POWER TOOLS, A GPS AND JEWELRY…..
I’m out of breath!! That is too much. 17 of these burglaries were preventable.
Remember, take your valuables with you, don’t leave any bait. AND LOCK YOUR DOORS.
