Despite it all, 2020 was a year of creativity, community and quite a lot of changes. We want to thank everyone for supporting us this year and making sure that Folkestone stayed creative.
We started the year with events and festivals as normal before we all went in to lockdown. You joined us online for talks, workshops and more throughout this year and we worked with artists in new ways to make things happen.
As lockdown eased we invited you to shop local and support the Creative Quarter. We welcomed new businesses and celebrated existing tenants both online and in a socially distanced way.
Banksy returned and we were amazed by the creativity of Folkestone as you displayed artworks, objects and each other on The Plinth. We believe that Folkestone is the most creative place and you proved us right this year.
We hosted an online book festival for the first time and produced a feature film starring a certain Ben Whishaw. As part of our festival the people of Folekstone came together to read and it was a very special moment.
These are just a few of the highlights from an extremely unusual year. All that is left to say is thank you to everyone that has supported us this year. Thank you to the artists and creatives that have continued to inspire us. Thank you to all of our partners and supporters. Thank you to our funders and Creative Folkestone Members.
