Above Front Tears, Oui Connect is a new sculpture by Laure Prouvost – a three-headed bird rising between sea and sky. Known for her poetic, surreal works, Prouvost blends humour, tenderness and mystery in this striking form, which connects Folkestone with France and Belgium. Evoking transformation, migration and fluid identity, the sculpture reflects Prouvost’s interest in disorientation, connection and crossing borders – both physical and emotional. It’s part of her wider practice exploring language, longing and imagined worlds. Commissioned for Folkestone Triennial 2025: How Lies the Land?, this work offers a playful and hopeful vision for a more connected future.
