🦞 CPO – Small Crayfish, Big Personality

The Orange Dwarf Crayfish (Cambarellus patzcuarensis “Orange”) originates from the wild form found around Lake Pátzcuaro in Mexico. The bright orange colour is a selectively bred aquarium form.
Growing to only around 4–5 cm, CPOs are ideal for smaller, well-structured aquariums with caves, wood and plenty of hiding places. Temperatures around 18–24°C and moderately hard water suit them well.
They are active, curious and surprisingly confident for their size. During moulting they need safe retreats, and very small shrimp or slow tank mates may occasionally become prey.
