Origin: Amazon Basin + upper Orinoco

Type locality: Caño Muco, Meta (Vichada River basin), Colombia.

Size: small, elongate characin; type series includes specimens up to ~5.1 cm SL.

Water: soft, acidic, ultra-clean, high O₂; pH 5.5–6.5, 4–8 °dH, 23–27 °C; gentle flow over sand/leaf litter

Habitat: riffles with aquatic plants—keep in groups, offer micro-foods & cover.
