Prompt:
"Convert this image into Notan style to be suitable to cut using a fiber laser from a sheet of metal, avoid lines which are too thin for the laser to cut. Add as much detail as possible while considering the structure of the finished metal wall art. Use the highlights in the image as a reference for where to have the added detail, all areas of the subject need to have the same amount of the high level of detail to resemble the original image. Ignore the background in the image. The resulting image needs to be 2 dimensional without shadows."

I see metal wall art for sale all of the time, and I think it's cool, but I wouldn't buy any of it, and that's because it's just a generic piece of metal, it's not special, it has no meaning. It's designed to be quick to produce, they're often small so they're cheap to ship and the just don't look great to me. I wanted to do something different, I wanted a piece of art that had meaning, that was special, that could be mounted directly to the wall, or as you'll see from the video, mounted to a piece of wood for a really good POP! I have two more sheets of steel, which means I'll be making 4 more pieces of art for friends and neighbors and I think there is so much potential here that I plan to make this into a business, taking in pictures and converting them using the method here and then making it into art.
There is no reason you couldn't use the same techniques for Acrylic on your diode laser, or for your 3D printer as well, it's just a matter if dialing in the level of detail to suit your process.
