With a powerhouse lineup that includes Vanilla Ice, Tone Loc, Tag Team, and Color Me Badd, the tour promises a night filled with unforgettable hits, high-energy performances.
I caught up with Mark Calderon, the original and current frontman of Color Me Badd, to talk about the tour, our love for all things '90s, and why I feel (jokingly of course) that if Vanilla Ice doesn't perform “Ninja Rap,” then the night would be a bust.
Calderon, the founding and current frontman of Color Me Badd, is excited to be hitting the road again with some of the most recognizable names from the decade. He described the tour as a high-energy, full-blown nostalgia fest, where fans come ready to relive the music, fashion and feeling of the '90s. According to Calderon, the audience is usually decked out in vintage gear, singing along to every word—something he finds both energizing and deeply rewarding.
Color Me Badd, best known for hits like “I Wanna Sex You Up,” “All 4 Love” and “I Adore Mi Amor,” will take the stage alongside a lineup of ‘90s legends. Tone Loc is on board with his party-starting anthems “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina,” while Tag Team is ready to get the crowd jumping with “Whoomp! (There It Is).” Vanilla Ice will close the night with what we presume will be his signature track, “Ice Ice Baby.”
In addition to discussing the tour, Calderon shared a few '90s trends he wouldn’t mind seeing make a comeback.
