In the heart of Colombia lies the department of Quindío, nestled between Bogotá, Cali, and Medellín — a region known as the Coffee Triangle. Here, at more than 1,800 meters above sea level, sits the charming village of Salento, a peaceful haven where visitors can enjoy breathtaking landscapes and some of the world’s finest coffee.
Colombia’s tropical climate makes altitude essential for cultivation. At 1,800 meters, the cooler air slows the ripening of the beans, creating rich flavors unique to mountain coffee. But behind every cup lies an incredible effort: coffee farming is demanding, requiring years of investment and patience. From the day a seed is planted, three long years pass before the plant bears its first fruit. It’s a job of dedication, persistence, and passion — the true soul of Colombian coffee.
