Across the vast wilderness of Siberia and Mongolia, nomadic life is built around constant trials. In a world of frozen tundra, desert steppes, scarce pasture and prowling wolves, every generation must prove it can read the land, protect the herd and endure nature’s demands.
For Altagan, the test is to find new pasture before the animals weaken. His future independence, and perhaps his place within the family, depends on it. Days of searching through dunes and mountains lead to doubt, exhaustion and finally relief when grass appears on the horizon.
Farther north, young Edik faces a different trial: spending his first night alone guarding the herd at -50°C. In the darkness, with wolves nearby, responsibility becomes painfully real.
From the Mongolian steppe to the Siberian tundra, this documentary follows nomadic families at the moment where tradition becomes a test, and survival is learned the hard way.
