In this video I visit one of the most iconic coastal locations in the UK - Durdle Door!
Staying motivated to go out and do a bit of landscape photography during the summer can be tough - the early sunrises and late sunsets make it difficult to get out during golden hour, and everything can be so green that it makes it difficult to find any other interesting colours.
When I feel like this during the summer I like to visit the coast, the water and interesting coastal features can make images more interesting whatever the time of year. I combined this with another method I have of getting my mojo back - Photographing either a well known scene or subject, or even going back to photograph something you have photographed many times before, can put you in a position where you get your flow back and feel invigorated to go out with the camera more and more. Durdle Door is one of those places, a real favourite amongst landscape photographers, and photographed many times before, so by giving yourself a better chance of capturing something interesting and successfully - giving you a bit of an easy win - can really help you get your motivation back again.
