In January 2025, a fast-moving wildfire swept through Altadena, California, burning more than 14,000 acres and damaging or destroying over 7,000 homes and properties. The flames are out, but the danger isn’t.
Families are still living with unsafe conditions: fencing that once provided security is gone, and downed trees and debris create hazards that fuel future floods and fires.
That’s where Team Rubicon comes in. Greyshirt volunteers are in the field right now—running saw teams to clear vegetative debris, chipping downed brush, and installing new perimeter fencing to restore safety, security, and peace of mind for residents.
This isn’t easy work. It’s long days, heavy labor, and relentless grit. But Greyshirts don’t quit when the headlines fade. They dig in, especially for the most vulnerable households who need us most.
