In 312, while in a battle against his rival Maxentius situated at the bridge of Milvian Constantine saw a vision of a cross in the sky with the words “in this sign conquer”. He won the battle and attributed his good fortune to the vision. Would Christ command anyone to use the sign of His sacrifice to conquer people by military force?
