Ayo, here's a one-take guitar playthrough (but on bass?? lol) of my song "Choppi" from my 2022 album, Red!
No timing, editing, etc. Just live one-take recordings for the left and right guitars.

So yeah, this song's from my Red album, which came out in March of 2022. I did mime'd performance videos for a few of the songs, but I never got around to this one, because there's a lot of dead air and I didn't know what to do. I thought it would be cool to finally do something for it, but live instead!
Live playthroughs aren't something I do, like, ever lol, but this was a lot of fun!! It's just a bit more challenging to play well while attempting to look good on camera. It's not the tightest playthrough ever, but I kinda like that. Hope you enjoy it!!

Oh yeah, there's a few quirks about this song I wanted to mention. There's a little bar of 1/16 right before the breakdown at 2:18. It's really weird getting used to that timing and it's really easy to rush the breakdown entrance.
The breakdown also does something similar to "Tactical Nuke" by The Acacia Strain (where the tempo is lowered after every repetition). In the breakdown in my song, it starts at 125 BPM, then lowers to 115 after 4 bars, then to 112 after 2 bars, 100 after 1.5 bars, then 96 after 3 quarter notes. After that it stays static until the end.
It's really kinda dumb, but I love that sort of approach to tempo changes. I think a lot of the musicality can be stripped away by doing a smooth, gradual tempo change in the DAW, so I prefer to do it like this instead. It's also just in general easier to work with MIDI/sync-wise.

I used the same tone from the album: my Red Rhythm preset in Archetype: Gojira.

This is one of the more experimental music videos Ive done, but that also means that there are quite a few errors.. In addition, I lost the original video footage for the guitar parts, so I had to re-record them.. Because of this, they dont exactly fit the audio.. Though all in all I think the remix was decent and the video was pretty good. If you have any thoughts or criticisms, let me know in the comments down below. :D
