Hi there, I did the soundtrack for the newest Smash Bracket video (Mii vs. Inkling) and thought it'd be nice to upload here!
Thanks to Smash Bracket for having me on another fun video and for giving me permission to put this on my channel! :D

~ ✧ ~ stuff ~ ✧ ~
I started work on this soundtrack back in February and seemed to have finalized things in early March. I've done two other projects with Smash Bracket, but this was my favorite by far! I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't be able to do it at first, but as I got into it, the music just kinda flowed out and the whole process felt second-nature!
I'm a Wii Sports fan, but I'm not much of a Splatoon person tbh. Before I even made the session for this project, I listened to a bunch of stuff from Splatoon 1 to get acquainted. I found a lot of inspiration in the unashamed willingness to explore wackiness and "outside" elements. So I tried to channel that with the Splatoon-y parts and had a lot of fun in the process! I've still yet to really get into Splatoon music, but I have a much greater appreciation for it now.

I'm gonna try to keep it short and sweet here... if possible lol.
DRUMS
Kick: EZDrummer Modern Metal
Snare: EZDrummer Modern Metal
Toms: SSD 5 (Pearl MMC)
Cymbals: GGD Modern & Massive
I've had the EZD Modern Metal pack for a bit, but this was actually the first thing I've used it for. It might be a bit too snappy, harsh, and stabby for the metal stuff I do, but it fit in really well here with the lower velocities! That snare ring is very nice. :D
GGD Modern & Massive cymbals and SSD 5 toms are staples for me, tbh. If I don't know what to use, I tend to fall back on them.
----------
BASS
Logic Pedalboard (Comp → Candy Fuzz in Parallel) → Ignite Amps SHB-1 → Logic EQ → Logic Chromaverb
My usual bass tone, ~kinda. Ignite SHB-1 instead of the Plugin Alliance SVTVR.
Just a tiny bit of reverb on bass can make a world of difference tbh!
----------
GUITAR
Mostly just Neural DSP Soldano and Archetype: Nolly for guitars!
For the guitars that have the wacky wah-like sound to them, I used Logic Phat FX before the amp. Phat FX has an envelope follower section that, when paired with the filter section, can do some crazy stuff! For this, I had the filter set to Comb Filter Negative and maaaaaan... this envelope follower comb filter technique has saved me multiple times this year lol. I'd like to make a video going over it soon!
----------
SYNTHS
Xpand!2, OB-Xd, and Logic Sampler (EXS24). I also used the Kirby 64 Bottle Blow sample for the intro section and some Korg Triton stuff in the outro section.

![Megaman - Elec Man Stage - Cover [VGMC] [Music Videos]
It was pretty weird making this remix since I dont have very much experience playing piano. It took a lot of practice but I ended up learning how to play this song so thats good I guess. I apologize for the first couple of shots being framed poorly.. The only good takes I had were framed with little consideration... Its alright though, I guess.

![Xenogears - Babel Tower (Premonition) - Cover [VGMC] [Music Videos]
This isnt the most interesting remix for a music video, but I just felt like it would be cool to experiment with music videos again. Personally, I love the soundtrack for Xenogears and when I think of Xenogears, one of the first things I think of is this track and Babel Tower itself. I know a lot of people REALLY despised that area of the game, but I think it worked really well, even though the platforming shouldnt have been so annoying. Also, I apologize for the cheesy editing, I was just experimenting with some things.
