Here's my ambient, progressive metal cover of "Omega System" from Xenosaga Episode II. Thanks to @NahTony for playing bass on this one! Go check him out and give him some support: youtube.com/c/NahTony24

Huge thanks to NahTony for contributing bass (and a few really cool ambient parts that are lurking in the mix). I couldn't have done it without him! As you may know, I got a lot of my shit stolen... so i can't record bass right now. I can get a similar result using the 8-string, but it's just not the same.
Again, huge thanks to Anthony, you can check out his channel here:

I've been playing through all the Xenosaga games this summer and enjoying them quite a bit. I love the story, music, characters, world, all of it! Oddly enough, I got really into Episode II, even though it seems like everyone on the internet hates it haha.
I ended up really enjoying the in-game soundtrack for Episode II. I love how it's got this really cool mix between the styles of the Mega Man X games, Metroid Prime, classic JRPG goodness and even some hints of Jazz/Fusion. I've never heard anything quite like it, so I knew I was going to have to cover something from it.
Once I made it to the Omega System in the game, I knew I was gonna have to cover this track. I love the weird, eerie, creepy, dissonant intro and how it flows into this strangely melancholic, legato melody. That melody, along with the chords underneath it, are just way too good. That's the type of shit I'm always looking for in music!
I maybe could've covered this without doing all the dj0nt stuff, but it just came so naturally (and the song works perfectly in F standard, oddly enough). It could've been done differently, but I'm happy with the way this all turned out!

It was pretty weird making this remix since I dont have very much experience playing piano. It took a lot of practice but I ended up learning how to play this song so thats good I guess. I apologize for the first couple of shots being framed poorly.. The only good takes I had were framed with little consideration... Its alright though, I guess.
