Chiefs Head Peak, elevation 13,577ft, is located in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Its summit profile as seen from the front range resembles the head of an Indian chief facing skyward, hence its name. Together with Pagoda Mountain it forms the southern boundary of the impressive Glacier Gorge area. This hike follows the “North Ridge” route, starting from Sandbeach Lake trailhead next to the Wild Basin entrance. Total hiking stats: 16miles, with 5,500ft elevation gain
