We hiked both 13er Mt Sheridan (13,757’) and 14er Mt Sherman (14,043’) starting from Fourmile Creek TH on 5/24/26, one day after hiking Centennial 13er Mt Buckskin a bit further north. We hiked Mt Sherman from Iowa Gulch side five years ago, and didn’t get much of a summit view due to heavy fog. This time around the weather looked much nicer at least in the morning. We went up Sheridan first as it’s a brand new summit for us. We enjoyed the solitude on this side of the saddle and the views on top were outstanding. After getting back to the saddle, the clouds started to build but there was no danger of lightning this early in the season, so we decided to head back up to Sherman. We didn’t take any break and were soon on the summit . As we’re heading down we encountered a brief squall of graupel/sleet. I chose to glissade down a snowfield for about 150’ from the saddle which was pretty fun and efficient. Total stats: 6.8 miles with 2800’ gain
