One of the man Aardman animated (or at least Aardman-inspired) Chevron commercials with anthropomorphic cars talking about how much they love Chevron gas. They like it so much better than that off-brand stuff.
Chevron ran a lot of these commercials with all different kind of cars. They even made a series of model cars which looked like some of the ones in the commercials.
Early versions of these commercials had the cars talking about how they ran better (or made more power) on Techron, but this was deemed to be not supportable by facts, so they switched to talking about how Techron keeps your engine cleaner, which was supportable. Also, initially Techron was called "Techroline", which probably was a bit too chemical-sounding.
The pigeons at the end are dead giveaways of the Aardman heritage. The eyes also are pretty characteristic. Serta runs a set of commercials with numbered sheep (for counting) lamenting the loss of their jobs due to Serta's great mattresses.
Chevron has deemphasized Techron lately, instead talking about their nitrogen-enriched gasoline. Although at least until 2010, a Chevron ad on the left field wall at AT&T Park in San Francisco had a cartoony car on it. Initially the eyes (headlights) of the car lit up but this had to be toned down or disabled as it was considered to be distracting.
This 30 second spot aired during a US showing on Speed Channel of the 1999 Monaco GP (May 16).
