1999 ad for Levi's Hard Jeans. Softened and lightened jeans had become very popular and Levis decided to go the other way with unwashed jeans that were stiff (probably intentionally stiffened) when you bought them.
This ad relates that there are many kinds of really soft cotton in this world and shows a baby chick and states that that is exactly the kind of cotton that Levis Hard Jeans don't use any of.
Note that neither the hardest or softest cotton comes from chickens, it typically comes from a plant.
