Investors heartily embraced the internet. The web allowed easy access to financial reports and research with a speed only available to a very few a mere decade before.

The only problem? Web sites looked truly awful. Check out the options available for this investor as he sets a price alert on Home Depot. Still, it really was a huge advance and web design would advance rapidly past this point. 1024x768 displays became common and soon some even had broadband (high speed internet)!

Sure, these are humble beginnings, but this really was state-of-the-art at the time.
