In this video, I explore how creationist organizations like Answers in Genesis might develop their own AI-powered search functions and chatbots. Discover the motivations behind this move, the potential challenges, and what it could mean for the future of young-earth creationism in the digital age.
Creationists worry that when their audience seeks answers from AI search engines and large language models (LLMs) freely available on the internet, they often encounter information that doesn't align with a young-earth worldview and even provide disclaimers about creationism as representing a fringe or antiquated idea.
So what do I think they are going to do about this "information bias?" My prediction is that organizations like Answers in Genesis will create their own AI-enhanced search tools and chatbots. These custom AI tools could be trained exclusively on their extensive repository of young-earth creationist materials. But, to what end, you may ask? Well, to ensure that users receive answers that prioritize a young-earth viewpoint and critically examine secular perspectives. In other words, to get their answers from Answers in Genesis.
In this video, I also introduce my own custom GPT research tool I created for obtaining information from Answers in Genesis to demonstrate how LLMs can be trained to give responses based on a preselected set of files or websites.
