I am still currently renovating the house and some of the work can be awkward and heavy for one person. I am installing the ceilings and this is the technique that I am using (It is intended for demonstration and entertainment and not to be copied).
I made a couple of brackets from some left of Steel Angle. I drilled holes in the top and back of the upper part and a 6mm hole in the lower part to receive a bolt. I used a pole made from a heavy steel curtain rod to act as a support.
I fix the brackets to ceiling framework outside of the width of the boards that are being installed. I then slide them in place and support them using simple T-braces. It is still tricky, but it works well.
If I need to fix the bracket to the wall for the first board, I fix it lower and leave a gap for the board to fit and use a spacer made from plastic pipe to hold the pole level with the other bracket.
The idea is based on something I saw on the internet while searching for one person dry walling.
The lighting is not so good in the video as I am working from small temporary lamps until the electrics are complete, but I hope the idea is clear enough.
I like the idea of making my own Tools, especially if it is a Tool that is not easily found or readily available. Handmade Tools give great satisfaction and for me it is fun knowing that I created something to help me better improve my woodworking experience.
