A new "faith-based" investment tool promises to purify Catholic portfolios by divesting from causes like abortion rights and LGBTQ+ advocacy. This supposed moral compass, however, reeked of hypocrisy, given its creator’s past financial strategies. While presented as a guide for ethical investing, the tool risks becoming another weapon in the culture wars, potentially steering funds towards conservative agendas rather than genuine Catholic values, which are far from monolithic. This raises concerns about financial exclusion and whether such "guidance" is about piety or profit, and secularists are already joking about using it in reverse to support the very causes it condemns.
