I know I was dead for a while, I've been facing some health issues, both physical and mental, and I am finally recovered enough to give uploading stuff a shot again. I'd like to take a moment and thank everyone who I had the chance to speak to during this hiatus and for those who reached out.
I'll come clean. This fight was not at all what I expected. I thought Ogerpon would act like a standard Terastalized overworld encounter, in that you lower its health and it loses the Terastalization, and then you can catch it as you would a regular Pokemon. As such, I swapped out my team of prized rare Pokemon for a team of False Swipers I had made to handle most situations.
Unfortunately, most of my team does not have attacking moves outside of False Swipe, which means I was forced to improvise with what I had on hand, leading to a really fun fight. My forethought of capture situations led to a large number of scenarios being covered. When Ogerpon buffs itself by changing masks, I can use Haze to cleanse all buffs. When he goes for Fighting type moves, I have a Ghost type handle it etc.
I do wish Carmine told me now is not the time to try catching way earlier in the battle, as I spent the fight initially handling it as stated above. Not cool, man.
My team for this set of uploads consists of Pokemon RNG’d in Pokemon Colosseum and Gale of Darkness by myself or by a friend several years ago, and then evolved to obtain either a new evolution, or a new form ie Hisui Typhlosion and Ursaluna. They were all purified as Shadow Pokemon, and so have “The Triumphant” in the title.
The non shiny shadows are from Gale of Darkness, ie Scyther, while the shiny shadows are fromColosseum. If they are from Colosseum in a Luxury Ball, then the ball had to be individually obtained from Resort Gorgeous or from Master Rank contest farming, and then traded as a held item to Colosseum. To say these are wonderful rares is an understatement.
