A major reason why I have 300 hours logged into this game is the fact that I went for each and every single rare drop equipment that has a unique move associated with it. These unique moves need to be sparked (with very few exceptions I will get to in a moment) as usual, and make a massive difference in combat.
The most notable example is the bow you get from beating Kzinssie in the postgame. Being able to restore (not overcap) LP lost makes year 1001 Final Emperor runs much more feasible, and allow for a generally riskier gameplay in the first and last generation.
Some weapons have additional effects that are not necessarily moves, in the form of being able to channel a spell or being able to use another weapon type's techs. The Moonlite is a great example of this, as it allows anyone to cast Moonlight II, and it can also activate any Sword techs despite being a Greatsword. You can use the spell even if you know something of the opposing schools of magic, ie Elixir on Terra Blade on a pyro/aerology user etc. You can even spark Fire Wall II without ever learning the original spell and just channeling it!
The tech Trample requires the equipment Heeled Sandals, worn by female Vagabonds. The damage scales based on your health and does not require any sparking, which means that abilities like the male mercenary HP passive, and the postgame Focused Mender overheal power all make this deal more. I use it liberally at the beginning of runs, especially Romancing difficulty
Beastking Avalanche is another freebie off of Dantarg's gloves. Just a regular martial arts move with earth damage on top.
The Dancing Sword tech is about as strong as a Flowing Slash, but without the debuff. It does not need a spark either. Again, very useful early on.
I am extremely passionate about the SaGa series and wanted to record the care that went into each and every one of these ansimations, especially since I doubt everyone will go out of their way to get the weapons associated with it all.
