Without a doubt, this is one of the strongest NPCs in the game due to having about 70,000 hit points, few weaknesses, and the actual ability to become invincible for a few turns.
After a lot of thought, and with the full version of the game, I came to the conclusion that Arcanist!Hikari is one of the best ways to beat her because he gets all the fun cheesy stuff from Octopath 1 condensed into a single class. Not only can he reflect the spells from Cleric right back at her (to which she is somehow weak), but he can also set up a revival seal just in case things go sideways.
I played a very defensive game here, and have no doubt there are more offensive ways to defeat Cleric. I wanted to play with my food, so to speak.
If Hikari beats Cleric, he will learn the skill Divine Protection. For 100 SP, he will negate x amount of hits on a target character, x being boost factor. So in other words, if you cast Sealctige's Seduction on Hikari beforehand, he can quad boost and give everyone ivulnerability for four moves.
This works best if you have Arcanist!Partitio in your party, who can cast Seal of Eternity to keep Sealctige's Seduction up indefinitely, Donate BP as needed, and of course use his EX skill to overcap SP for the entire party.
Between Arcanist!Partitio being able to give everyone Sidestep just like Tressa used to do in Octopath 1, Hikari giving literal invincibility, and Arcanist having the ability to freaking make turn count based Divine Skills like Aelfric and Doether last forever, you can really mess with the game doing this.
I will post a video on how to get the Arcanist class at a later time, as that is the key component to the entire cheesy sandwich.
